Julie Orchard
Many MMers have a personal connection to the agriculture industry, like counselor Julie Orchard. In her day to day, she works with animal health clients to identify customer needs and develop communication strategies that lead to client success. But it’s what happens outside her office hours that gives her such an innate understanding of dairy herd health and how best to equip producers – she’s a dairy producer herself. In the last two decades, Julie has helped bring countless animal health products to market, including the launch of Eazi-Breed CIDR, which earned a Best of Show at National NAMA. She delivers client success after client success, all while managing a 300-head dairy herd alongside her husband in Columbus, Wisconsin.
WHAT MOVES ME?
I love the dairy industry. It’s a great community of people and an honor to serve dairy producers.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
- If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would start a creamery.
- The best piece of advice I’ve ever gotten is: Your life is what you live. Live it with no regret.
- The most inspiring part of my job is: Educating people about agriculture, whether by helping consumers understand what we do or sharing information with farmers about how we can all make a conscious effort to improve our methods and work toward a common good for both people and animals.
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a zookeeper when I grew up. I’d say I didn’t land too far off from that!
