An art history nerd at heart, Abby Schmidtke sees graphic design as the intersection of communication and art, and that’s exactly where she loves to be. She works closely with teams across our organization to spark fresh ideas and create visual designs for digital, print and experiential projects. Good design should stop you in your tracks. With that in mind, Abby approaches every project with creativity and an eye for the unexpected — whether it’s a stunning layout, a balanced color palette or typography that shines.

WHAT MOVES YOU?

I love the fluidity of graphic design. No two designers will tackle a project the same way, and no two viewers see a design through the same lens. When thoughtful design is paired with the right words, they do so much more than communicate a simple point. They shape emotion, deepen understanding and create connection.

  • This might surprise you: I’ve won a freckle contest multiple years in a row, and I was in a Barbie magazine.

  • The best piece of advice I’ve ever gotten was spray painted on a wall in my college town: The cold water does not get warmer if you jump late.
