With farming deeply engrained in her past, present and future, it’s no surprise Rosalie has found a fit engaging with farm and commodity groups to facilitate conversations with consumer audiences. She oversees strategic planning, goal setting and outlining communication objectives and measurements to find creative ways to help consumers get to know the people behind their food. Rosie’s got the ag smarts and is always good for a quick quip about something or other. She holds a bachelor’s degree in animal industry management from Illinois State University and stays involved with the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Young Leaders group.

WHAT MOVES ME?

I come from a long line of farmers, and I am raising yet another generation on the farm. Farming is a part of who I am, and I love that my job is to help others understand who farmers are and why we do what we do. I get to brag about some of my favorite people every day, and in doing so, help to ensure my daughter’s future as a farmer, if that is what she chooses.

• One of my favorite quotes is: “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
• In another life, I’m pretty sure I was a gymnast. In this life, my body doesn’t quite agree with that.
• If I could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, I would be on a beach with a margarita!
• On a Saturday morning, you’ll find me snuggled up in bed with a cup of coffee, a toddler and an Australian Shepherd.
