Sarah Pohlman
Born and raised in Los Angeles before moving to North Carolina and later Chicago, Sarah’s connection to agriculture might come as a bit of a surprise. But a long-standing love of animals and an interest in entomology led to a career in agriculture communications and she hasn’t looked back.
Those who have had the pleasure of working with Sarah might describe her as passionate, creative and high-spirited. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand. Her positive attitude and innate curiosity shine through everything she touches – whether that’s brainstorming fresh content ideas, fostering media relationships or working on engaging new digital tactics.
WHAT MOVES YOU?
I’ve always been driven to help others and drive positive. There are a limited number of things that are within our realm of control, but I believe that even the smallest tasks like making someone laugh, holding the door, or lending a hand on a metrics report can have a big impact.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
- One of my favorite quotes is “Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.”
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a zookeeper when I grew up. I was so obsessed with Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, that I wanted to run away across the world to work in the Australian Zoo.
- One of the goals I want to accomplish this next year is getting more involved with my community, whether that be volunteering at shelters, book drives or fundraising. I want this to be the year where I put my words and passions into action.
- When I’m not working, you might find me doing arts and crafts. I love painting, making jewelry, collecting stickers, and just about any creative activity where I can use my hands!
- Three items on my bucket list are taking a cliché photo “holding” the Leaning Tower of Pisa, following the Monarch butterfly migration, and walking through tulip fields in the Netherlands.
