MorganMyers continues its winning streak, takes home top 2022 Golden ARC Award
The MorganMyers team is pleased to be a recipient of three Golden Ag Relations Council (ARC) Awards, including the top award, at the annual celebration held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 22, 2022. Since 1990, the Golden ARC Awards have been recognized as the most esteemed award in the agricultural public relations industry!
1. The SCN Coalition Active SCN Management Campaign
We received the Golden ARC de Excellence – ARC’s top award for the campaign that scores the highest among all winning entries – for The SCN Coalition’s public relations campaign to move more soybean farmers to actively manage the soybean cyst nematode (SCN). The campaign also received a Golden ARC Award in the category of Issues Management.
Market research showed that many farmers were unaware of SCN’s resistance to the management practices they were using until several university leaders with the support of our team formed The SCN Coalition, a public-private partnership funded by the soybean checkoff. We supported the coalition with an educational campaign – “Take the test. Beat the pest.” – to move more growers to measure and manage SCN resistance.
Since its inception in 2018, the campaign has motivated up to 18% more farmers to actively manage SCN, enabling them to farm more sustainably – both economically and environmentally.
2. Illinois Farm Families’ “Growing Your Food with Care” Campaign
Our work for Illinois Farm Families (IFF), a coalition made up of the state’s commodity and farm organizations, also took home a 2022 Golden ARC Award in the category of Agricultural Image.
This “Growing Your Food with Care” communications campaign was designed to give a voice to Illinois’ almost 70,000 family farmers while answering consumers’ questions about food and farming. Since the campaign began, young Illinois parents’ “farm-to-table IQ” grew more than twice the national average. In 2021 alone, IFF reached more than 10 million people with nearly half a million social media, video and digital engagements.
The Golden ARC Awards mark the second set of national awards for these high-impact campaigns. The SCN Coalition and IFF also were the recipients of the Public Relations Society of America’s 2022 Silver Anvil Awards, a national competition recognizing the best PR campaigns across all industries.
