Eric Davis
Eric Davis has more than 20 years of experience in B2C and B2B food communications strategy, account leadership and PR for a range of food and farm-centric clients — but perhaps his biggest asset is a near-limitless amount of curiosity about the food industry.
From how food is produced to the trends and tastes driving food consumption, this industry is always evolving. For Eric, that keeps things interesting. He loves the balance of immersing himself in current food trends, helping clients and teams strategically seize those food trends and reacting to team and client needs as they arise. From elevating fresh mushrooms to become the fastest-selling food in the produce aisle to connecting California avocado growers directly with shoppers through events, tours and media outreach, his work has run the gamut.
While Eric now calls Minneapolis home, he hails from the Nashville area and has a deep appreciation for music. In another life, he’d probably own an independent record store.
WHAT MOVES YOU?
I love that food is and will always be at the center of the cultural conversation. Culinary trends at restaurants? Shopper behaviors at grocery stores? Innovations at ingredient formulation? The rapid emergence of AI in our daily lives? Food must always adapt; so, too, must food marketers. In short, the job is never boring. I haven’t been bored a single day in 20 years.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be third baseman for the Cincinnati Reds when I grew up.
- This might surprise you about me: Because I grew up in the rural South, I have a thick Southern accent but constantly mask it with a neutral accent I learned when I worked as a radio DJ. Also, I was once a radio DJ.
- One of my favorite quotes: “Work hard, be kind and amazing things will happen.” — Conan O’Brien.
- Someone I admire is Bob Dylan. Time marches on like an army of steamrollers, but Bob Dylan keeps finding a way to reinvent himself and remain a cultural touchstone.
- On a Saturday morning, you’ll find me up very, very early sipping coffee, playing jazz albums on low, reading a book with my two dogs (Barry and Lila) at my side while my wife Kris and son Spencer sleep in.
