Brian Hall
G&S IMCG President Brian Hall has spent 25+ years working side by side with clients to translate complex solutions, innovations and expertise into powerful storytelling that inspires action from even the most overloaded audiences. And along the way, he’s worked to grow a culture that equips and empowers our teams to do the same.
A senior communications strategist, Brian counsels clients on their biggest challenges, issues and opportunities, and also serves as one of the Group’s lead facilitators for media training and message development workshops. His real bread and butter, though? Having the privilege of leading super-talented people, working with account leaders to continuously elevate client service excellence, fostering impactful integration across our key disciplines, and actively nurturing the collaboration, camaraderie and sense of community that are hallmarks of life at G&S IMCG.
What moves me?
Living our values of Win Together and Enjoy Life. The fun and inspiration of collaborating with cool, talented colleagues on business-moving communications programs for our clients as well as agency programs and initiatives. That’s what being part of a thriving agency is all about – and why I’ve enjoyed being part of G&S for more than 25 years.
- What’s a brand you admire?
I’m currently obsessed with Ooni, maker of outdoor pizza ovens. I love how they’ve made pizza a high-end, at-home outdoor cooking experience so many people are enjoying with family and friends (and sharing about in various digital communities). - What’s one piece of career advice you live by?
I constantly come back to the tenets of Radical Candor. It’s all about demonstrating every day that you Care Personally. And that builds the trust needed to effectively Challenge Directly. - If you weren’t in marketing and communications, what would you be doing?
Is professional fisherman an option? The real answer is teaching. I originally went to college as an education major before transitioning to Public Relations. I so enjoy the opportunities I get to speak at local universities and I hope that more teaching at that level is part of my future. - What’s something people might not know about you?
As noted in previous answer, I’m super into fishing. I live on a small fishing lake in northern Illinois, I take at least one fishing-focused trip per year and I find a way to weave at least one fishing excursion into nearly every family vacation.
