Matt spends his days creating innovative communications models and executions that lead our clients to success – and also cooking up a delicious storm in the MM Brew & Chew. Don’t be fooled by his sometimes self-deprecating humor. Matt will leave you both laughing and thinking hard with his brilliant ideas and swift wit. His key to decades of client success is to fluidly bridge the gap between strategy and tactical ideation. Being able to “speak both languages,” he is a sought-after speaker about marketing and message development. He explains strategic communications as a simple process: Help a client determine what needs to be said (messages), who it needs to be said to (audiences) and how it needs to be said (strategies and tactics) in order to achieve a desired goal. Then do it. (And if you can? Enjoy it while you do.)

WHAT MOVES ME?

I am fascinated by food – its functional and emotional role in our lives and our ever-changing relationship with it. I’m driven by a need to help people enjoy food. This can mean understanding it better or appreciating it more.

  • One of my favorite quotes is: “When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” –Unknown
  • I want to be remembered by people for making people laugh, making them happy and caring.
  • The vacation of my dreams would be a culinary tour of Italy then Japan.
  • When I’m not working I enjoy anything with my family, cooking and cycling.
